Where to stay and what to do…

Vashon is an island – so you’ll need to get a ferry!

Ferries run from Fauntleroy, West Seattle (a 15 min. ride) to the north end of Vashon Island and from Point Defiance, Tacoma area (a 10 min. ferry ride) to the south end of the Island (Tahlequah).

If you want to walk-on, we are planning to have free shuttle vans available to transport attendees to the Vashon Theatre during the day and back after the last show. (Please check back to this page on September 1st for times/schedules).

Summertime is especially busy, so please leave yourself plenty of time to get a ferry ticket and in line.

Vashon boasts a variety of accommodation options

Vashon Island is a summer vacation paradise, with beautiful places to stay. There are different options from Air BnB and VRBO, to camping and Lodges. Check the chamber for a full list, or search directly on the Air BnB/VRBO sites.

Be sure to book early, as places fill fast in the summer and fall.

From restaurants to rentals – there’s so much to do!

A minutes walk from the Vashon Theatre are some great bars, coffee/ tea joints and restaurants covering an array of culinary experiences. Think award winning Thai food, vegetarian, Southern or Mexican… and rustic pastries the size of your head. Many use seasonal, local, organic ingredients, and there is often local art displayed inside.
Downtown Vashon is only about 3 blocks long and it’s all very walkable. Take in a gallery cruise, or even think about renting a bike or e-bike in town if you won’t have a car. You can also check out kayak rentals if you are feeling on the adventurous side…

About Vashon Island

A Jewel of the Pacific Northwest

Nestled in the “Heart of the Puget Sound” with views of water or mountains, Vashon-Maury is truly an Island. It can only be reached by a short yet beautiful 15 minute ferry ride. There is something magical about being on an island.

The pace is slower, the attitudes are relaxed and friendly, and our patchwork of small farms, forests and natural settings make it a unique Northwest destination. The Conscious Cartoons crew welcomes you.
